- Your own vehicle and professional driver

An enquiry is not a confirmed booking. Our team will reply in English to confirm availability, your vehicle and the written quote.
A private car from CTS to your Sapporo hotel
HokkaVia provides pre-arranged New Chitose Airport to Sapporo private transfers for couples, families and groups. After a flight, you can keep your party and bags together instead of arranging station changes or finding separate vehicles. Tell us the complete hotel name and we will plan the final arrival with you.
Travel with your own group
The agreed vehicle is reserved for your party. This is a private transfer, rather than a scheduled shuttle selling individual seats.
Arrive at the right entrance
Sapporo Station, Odori and Susukino hotels have different entrances and loading arrangements. We confirm the practical drop-off point for the address you provide.
Plan in English
Our team handles enquiries and trip arrangements in English. Drivers use everyday conversational English and translation apps; a fluent tour guide is a separate request.
We arrange licensed commercial passenger vehicles and professional drivers. Your confirmation sets out the vehicle, meeting instructions and agreed journey. If your first evening includes a fixed restaurant reservation or hotel reception deadline, tell us early so we can assess the timing realistically.
Request my private airport transferAlphard, Standard HiAce or Luxury HiAce: choose for your whole group
Our direct one-way prices are Alphard US$260, Standard HiAce US$310 and Luxury HiAce US$360 per vehicle. Choose around the people and bags travelling together, rather than the maximum advertised seat count. We confirm the available configuration with your quote.
A pre-arranged private transfer takes your party from the agreed airport meeting point to your accommodation. It is especially useful when several people are travelling together, when you have large suitcases, or when changing transport after a flight would be tiring.
HokkaVia arranges New Chitose Airport to Sapporo transfers with English trip-planning support. We confirm the vehicle, meeting arrangements, availability and price for your journey before you commit. A transfer enquiry is not a confirmed booking.
Choose the vehicle around your luggage

Recommended for up to four guests travelling with luggage. A comfortable choice for couples and smaller families.

Recommended for up to six guests when travelling with luggage. Tell us about larger suitcases, pushchairs or ski bags.
Passenger capacity alone does not tell you how much baggage fits. Share the number and approximate size of your bags so we can suggest an appropriate vehicle. See our Alphard and HiAce luggage guide for more detail.
Compare the full party’s cost
Four adult non-reserved train fares total ¥4,920 before onward transport; four ¥1,500 bus fares total ¥6,000. Compare that with the complete private-vehicle quote, including the agreed destination and any applicable extras. A private transfer is primarily a choice about convenience and comfort; it is not automatically the cheapest option.
Request my transfer quoteAlphard: comfort for couples and smaller families
An Alphard is usually recommended for up to four guests with luggage. Child seats, large suitcases or a stroller can change the usable space. Tell us the actual bag sizes so we can check whether the layout suits your arrival.
Standard HiAce: a practical group option
Consider a Standard HiAce when your party or luggage needs more room. Seating and baggage space depend on the particular vehicle, so include adults, children, suitcases and any long equipment bags in your enquiry.
Luxury HiAce: request an upgraded cabin
A Luxury HiAce prioritises cabin comfort. Ask us to confirm the seating available on your date and the luggage arrangement; an upgraded cabin does not automatically mean unlimited bag capacity.

Suitcases, strollers and child seats: arrange the space before arrival
Please list large cases, cabin bags, strollers and any ski or snowboard bags separately. Photos or measurements help with unusual items. Families should send each child’s age, height and weight when requesting child seats, including infant or booster seats. These seats take passenger positions, so we check the full layout together.

These photographs show real vehicle examples. The exact vehicle and configuration are confirmed for your booking.
How your airport pickup and hotel arrival work
Before you fly: share the practical details
Send the local arrival date in Japan, flight number, domestic or international terminal if known, passenger numbers and the exact Sapporo hotel address. Include a contact number you can use in Japan. We will confirm availability, a suitable vehicle and the airport meeting instructions.
After landing: follow your confirmed meeting instructions
Landing time is not pickup time. Allow for immigration, baggage collection and walking through the terminal. Keep your phone available and follow the meeting point in your confirmation, rather than assuming the public taxi rank or bus stop. Flight changes, waiting and rescheduling arrangements are agreed before booking; unlimited waiting is not included by default.
The drive: allow about 1–1½ hours in normal conditions
The journey from CTS to central Sapporo is roughly 60 km by road, depending on the address and route. Plan about 1–1½ hours after pickup in normal conditions; snow, traffic and the final hotel can make it longer. Your driver selects a practical route for conditions. Airport arrival procedures are additional to the driving estimate.
Your hotel: complete the final part of the journey
Send the full property name for a hotel near Sapporo Station, Odori, Susukino or elsewhere in the city. If your apartment uses a separate key-collection address, include it. A direct transfer takes you to the agreed accessible destination, instead of leaving you to organise another ride from a station.
Direct transfer prices, return journeys and optional sightseeing
The published prices cover the agreed direct one-way vehicle service: Alphard US$260, Standard HiAce US$310 or Luxury HiAce US$360. Our vehicle service includes the driver, fuel, expressway tolls and parking for the agreed route. Your written quote confirms the total, availability, payment arrangements and any special requirements before you book.
We can also arrange Sapporo hotel to New Chitose Airport transfers. Provide your return date, hotel address and flight departure time so we can plan the pickup with room for airline check-in and possible road delays. A return journey has its own quote; the one-way price shown here is not a round-trip total.
Would you like a Sapporo city sightseeing stop after landing? Ask about Odori Park, the Clock Tower area, a meal or another suitable stop. Sightseeing time, extra stops and a changed route are quoted separately from the direct transfer. We will help you consider your arrival time, luggage and energy after the flight.
Sending the form starts the conversation. Your reservation is confirmed after the vehicle, itinerary, price and applicable conditions have been agreed. Keep your confirmation and contact details accessible while travelling, and let us know promptly if your flight or accommodation changes.
Request my private airport transferWhich option fits your Sapporo hotel?
Near Sapporo Station
Start with the train. Check the walking route to your hotel and whether your group can comfortably manage the bags. A short map distance can still include crossings or station corridors.
Odori or Susukino
Compare a relevant airport-bus stop with the train plus an onward connection. If neither leaves an easy last leg, a private transfer can take you to the agreed hotel address.
Elsewhere in the city
Check the complete route to your accommodation. With children, older relatives or multiple cases, fewer changes may be worth more than a faster first leg.

Winter, late flights and your return to the airport

A little extra time, a calmer arrival
Leave breathing room in winter.
Snow and ice can make the last walk with luggage harder as well as slowing road travel. Rail avoids ordinary road congestion, but severe weather can disrupt trains too.
Check live operating information and avoid a tight connection or a non-refundable activity immediately after your planned arrival.
For a late arrival, work backwards from the final service
Use your travel date’s timetable, allowing time for immigration, baggage collection and the walk to the boarding point. A scheduled landing time is not the time you are ready to leave the terminal. If arranging a private transfer, tell us your flight and ask about pickup availability, waiting arrangements and what happens if the flight is delayed.
Book the return around your flight
For Sapporo to New Chitose Airport, start with your airline’s check-in requirement and add a realistic journey buffer. Confirm return bus boarding and reservation rules separately. If booking a private pickup, provide your flight number and hotel address so the departure time can be discussed.
New Chitose Airport to Sapporo: time and cost
New Chitose Airport (CTS), also called Shin Chitose Airport, is roughly 60 km by road from central Sapporo, depending on the route. Your best option depends on where you are staying and how much you want to carry between connections. This guide compares ordinary adult one-way fares, without passes or special discounts.
| Option | Journey time* | Cost | Best fit | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| JR airport train | Fastest 33 min; Rapid 37 min; Semi-Rapid 43 min to Sapporo Station | ¥1,230 per adult, non-reserved | Light luggage; a hotel near the station | Continue from the station to your hotel; a seat is not guaranteed in non-reserved cars |
| Airport bus | About 70–90 min as a planning guide; varies by stop and service | ¥1,500 per adult on the listed central-Sapporo route | A hotel close to a served bus stop | Traffic, intermediate stops and the final walk |
| Private transfer | About 60 min by road to central Sapporo in normal conditions | Personalised vehicle quote | Families, groups and several suitcases | Higher cost for small parties; road and weather delays still apply |
*These are different journeys: the train ends at the station, the bus at its scheduled stop, and a private transfer at your agreed destination. Add terminal walking, waiting and any onward connection. Fares and schedules may change; confirm before travelling.

JR airport train: a strong choice near Sapporo Station
The JR station is connected to the Domestic Terminal underground. If you arrive internationally, follow the signs towards the Domestic Terminal and JR station. Keep terminal walking time separate from the train journey when planning your arrival. JR’s airport station access map helps you find the route.
JR lists six airport trains per hour between 09:00 and 16:00. Non-reserved seats need no seat reservation and compatible IC cards such as Suica and Kitaca can be used. Car 4 is reserved seating: buy the appropriate ticket before boarding. See JR’s English boarding guide.
Is a reserved seat worth it?
A u-seat can be a welcome upgrade after a flight when you want to sit together, subject to availability. JR currently lists a ¥1,000 reserved-seat supplement, or ¥800 for the specified ticketless reserved-seat product, on top of the ¥1,230 basic fare. That makes ¥2,230 or ¥2,030 respectively. Check the product’s booking conditions before purchase. JR’s current u-seat information.
For one or two travellers staying within an easy walk of Sapporo Station, start by comparing the train. Save your hotel’s exact entrance in your map app: the nearest station exit and the easiest route with bags may be different.
Airport bus: look for your hotel’s nearest stop
Hokkaido Chuo Bus and Hokuto Kotsu operate airport services towards central Sapporo. The airport lists domestic boarding stops 14 and 22 and international stop 84 for the city-centre services. Both terminals’ bus stops are on the first floor. Confirm the route at the counter or stop, as several services use the airport. Official airport bus information.
The published Chuo Bus city-centre timetable includes stops around Susukino, Odori and Sapporo Station, plus selected hotels. The listed adult fare is ¥1,500. Service patterns differ, so check the exact departure and stop rather than assuming every bus calls at your hotel. Check the current route and timetable.
A bus can make sense even when the ride is longer than the train: a convenient stop may remove a subway change. Compare the walk from that stop to your hotel with the train’s final connection. Check luggage conditions and booking requirements with the operator, especially for oversized items or your return journey.
Keep the hotel name and address ready, confirm your stop, and check how you will get from that stop to reception. A bus to “Sapporo” does not necessarily stop beside your accommodation.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a private transfer from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo?
HokkaVia’s direct one-way prices are US$260 for an Alphard, US$310 for a Standard HiAce and US$360 for a Luxury HiAce, per vehicle. Share your date, hotel, passengers and luggage to confirm availability and the written total. Return journeys, sightseeing and extra stops are quoted separately; your quote confirms the JPY amount payable.
What is the best way from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo?
For a hotel near Sapporo Station and manageable luggage, the JR train is a useful starting choice. Check an airport bus if its stop is closer to your hotel. A private transfer suits travellers who value an agreed hotel drop-off and fewer luggage changes.
What is the cheapest option in this comparison?
The ordinary adult non-reserved JR fare of ¥1,230 is lower than the listed ¥1,500 central-Sapporo bus fare. Add any onward transport to your hotel before comparing the final cost. Passes, discounts and child fares can change the calculation.
How long does it take to get to my hotel?
The fastest train takes 33 minutes to Sapporo Station, but that is not a hotel-arrival estimate. Add airport processing, walking, waiting and the final connection. A car journey to central Sapporo is roughly an hour in normal conditions; your address and the weather can change that.
Are New Chitose Airport and Shin Chitose Airport the same?
Yes. Both names refer to New Chitose Airport, with the airport code CTS. Use CTS and your flight details when discussing your pickup.
Can we bring large suitcases or ski equipment in a private transfer?
Tell us the quantity and approximate sizes before booking. We match the vehicle to both people and luggage; additional space or a second vehicle may be needed. Do not assume that every passenger seat can be used while carrying large bags.
Can I combine the transfer with sightseeing?
Yes, you can enquire about a separate private-tour plan. A direct airport transfer and a sightseeing charter are different services, so mention the stops you want and your flight time. Our Hokkaido model itineraries are a starting point for a longer journey.
Is this a shared airport shuttle?
No. Your HokkaVia private transfer is arranged for your own group in the agreed vehicle. You do not buy individual seats on a scheduled airport shuttle.
Can I request child seats or bring several large cases?
Yes. Send the children’s ages, heights and weights, plus the number and size of all bags. We check suitable seats and luggage space before confirming the vehicle.
Can I book the return journey or add Sapporo sightseeing?
Yes, subject to availability and a separate quote. Include both dates and flight details for a return transfer, or the stops and time you would like for sightseeing.
Let us take care of your Sapporo arrival.
Send your dates, flight and hotel, passengers and bags. HokkaVia will help organise your private airport transfer and confirm a written quote in English.
